Roadmap

What we're building next

A short, honest read of the work in front of us. No dates, no commitments  just the direction we're heading and what's coming first.

Building now

Active work

Items the team is implementing right now. Expect these to land in the next few releases.

  • Dialectic challenges and defeated state

    Arguments

GSN V3 includes a dialectic extension: a way to raise counter-arguments against goals and solutions, and to mark claims as defeated when a challenge succeeds. The schema already supports it; the editor surface and validation rules are being built now.

  • Reporting and PDF export

    Reporting

Lemmatica is browser-native, but assurance cases still need to leave the tool — for audit packages, regulator submissions, and external review. Reporting covers structured PDF export of a case, plus accompanying evidence indexes.

Next up

Queued for the following releases

Items we have committed to as the next wave of work after the active set ships. Order may shift; scope rarely does.

  • Reusable argument patterns

    Arguments

GSN V3 defines argument patterns — reusable templates for common argumentation forms (decomposition, elimination, confidence). The notation reference already documents them; the editor will let you instantiate them as starting points and adapt them per case.

  • Evidence reused across nodes

    Evidence

Today a piece of evidence belongs to a single node. In practice, the same test report or design document supports several claims. Multi-node evidence lets you cite an artefact once and link it to every claim it backs, without copy-paste.

  • Evidence review and sign-off

    Evidence

Assigning evidence items to reviewers, tracking the state of each review, and recording sign-off as part of the case. Built for the workflow regulated teams already run — Lemmatica records it instead of you tracking it in a side spreadsheet.

  • Import from the legacy editor

    Migration

Several teams use the original single-file HTML GSN editor and have existing cases there. We want to bring those in without manual re-entry. The plan is a one-shot import that preserves node IDs, hierarchy, and embedded evidence references.

Exploring

Direction, not commitment

Areas we expect to invest in but have not finished designing. Useful to know about; not safe to plan around.

  • Enterprise tier — SSO, audit logs, on-premise

    Enterprise

The Enterprise tier on the pricing page lists what we plan to offer: SSO and SAML, organisation-wide audit logs, custom data residency, and an on-premise deployment option for environments that cannot use a cloud service. None of this is shipped yet; the order is roughly the order listed.

  • Better modular sub-cases

    Arguments

Away goals already let you split a large case into linked sub-cases. We want the navigation between them to be smoother, the validation across them to be tighter, and the import/export to round-trip cleanly when a sub-case lives in its own document.

How we decide what ships next

We prioritise work that closes a gap in the standard before work that extends beyond it. Full GSN V3 compliance — including the dialectic extension and argument patterns — sits above features that no other GSN tool has. If a regulated team can't use Lemmatica because something in the standard is missing, that fixes itself first.

Inside that frame, we choose based on what beta teams tell us they reach for daily, what causes the most friction in real cases, and what unblocks a specific use case (defence, aerospace, autonomous vehicles, medical, cyber). We share what we learn back here as items move between buckets.

Items can move forward, slide back, or quietly leave the page if we change our minds. Nothing on this page is a contract. If something here is load-bearing for your decision to adopt Lemmatica, tell us at [email protected] so we can factor that into the order.
